This early-1960s, 3 BR ranch-style home underwent a total remodel. We removed the roof and took the central part of the house down to the subfloor; this allowed us to create an 11-foot high barrel vault over an expansive great room, the centerpiece of which is a Tulikivi masonry stove. Shallow arcs characterize the interior design, including curved walls, barrel vaults and arches throughout. In the bedroom wing, we transformed a three-foot-wide hallway into a six foot-wide gallery space, which is illuminated by a 12-foot long ridge light. The understated modern kitchen includes the seamless integration of appliances with cabinets, including two refrigerator drawers.
